i know it's kinda late to wish you guys a happy Chinese new year but imma do it anyways because in China, people celebrate it for 15 days.

oh wait today is the 15th day of Chinese new year lol.

sooo yesterday (feb.11th), we had our Chinese New Year celebration for our Chinese school like how we have it every year. :D

I came in late to volunteer because i had SAT class, so here's Jackie with the stuff she has to talk about from the time I wasn't there. lol...i kinda feel like the news reporter where they're like K here's jackie to update us.

Lolol yeahh JACKSTER HERE lol Grace did not miss much. wHEN I got there all the tables and stuff were already set up.. so I just chilled with Lauren, Harry and Noah and waited for Grace to come and asked people where Grace was like every five mins LOLOL

LOL.. I was hoping there would be another dora stuffed animal but nooo.. They only have a ton of monkey stuffed animals. Including a boots but this one fit our personalities better ahahah

So, every year we always volunteer for the event and one thing that we do every year is create a game.

lol it's basically pin the tail but based on the zodiac for the year.

So here's me drawing a chicken/rooster at 2am.

Also, the reason why my drawing is dora themed is because ever since Emily's sweet 16, we've been playing tag with Nicole, Luke, Ryan, and Pat.

and Jackie and pat destroyed the dora we got from chinese school last year. :( and inside was this long white felt tube thing that was suppposed to be her spine and that's what we used to tag people with when we're it. and while i was it, i threw it on luke's bus but he didn't see me throw it -_- so now dora is on an adventure somewhere on the bus.....sooo in memory of dora and her guts, we decided to make our game Dora themed.

That was a little off topic there but we never talked about it on the blog and it's something worth sharing lol.

ANYWAYSS BACK TO THE CNY PERFORMANCE

so originally i was just going to wear a blouse and jeans..because i'm casual and cool like that.

but then my mom was like nuhh wear the indian dress that our neighbor, Leyton gave us. and i was like areee you kidding meee? i'm not wearing an indian dress at a chinese event.

but then i tried it on, AND I FELL IN LOVE WITH MY OUTFIT and i love my dress.

lol honestly, i felt like such a mess( cuzz the SAT is stressful) the whole day but this dress made me so happy.

this caption is way too long to talk about a dress but whatever i really like it. lol

mkay also, i had to perform this chinese new year poem speech thing and it was so embarrasing and cringy like no one actually knew the words except for my classmate, Katherine..acutally i memorized it too..i just didn't know like 2 lines. but i literally felt like throwing up and crying on stage and everything a part of me wanted to run and AGHHH IT WAS SOO FRIGGENN BADDD. im so glad that katherine has a loud voice or we all would have died.

AHHHH. i'm just glad it's over.

so we thought it'll be all tumblr and pretty if we throw snow in the air while jumping..but the snow was all icy and didn't turn out the way we pictured it. :(

we also volunteered at the dessert table and like so many people pointed at these chinese dessert things and the description was in chinese. aahh jackie and i were like euhhh euhhh euhhh...some kind of jelly cake thingy thing. ya like the desserts were kinda pricy because like one small cookie or brownie wasn't really worth the money but all the kids were like MOMMYY/DADDY I WANT ITT

ahaha and lauren, luke. and harry were negotiating the prices with us for the desserts..lolol

so we got to the carnival early to set up our game, and as we were passing by the prize table, we saw these 2 stuffed animals and we were like we have to get one to use to play tag.

and we were like whispering like which one should we take and trying to rush on which one to decide before we get caught and then we decided to get both because let's be honest, no other kid would appreciate these stuffed animals more than we would lol

i remember boots always missing his boots in the show. lol how ironic

yeahh so this is Derek playing our game...ya i decided to do pin the egg instead because the tail looked stupid and i thought the egg was more creative.

ugh so there was another pin the tail game with just a regualar donkey, and more people wanted to play that than ours...and maybe our dora scared them away but like UGHHH

like the parents saw how lonely and sad our game was and they whispered to their kid's ear like go play pin the egg. and the kids were like NO or they would walk right past ours and play the game next to ours. :(

yeah so the previous years, we just used tape to pin the object but it was so stressful and a waste of tape to keep putting new tape to it so i decided to use velcro instead. mieh but i dont think anyone liked that idea soo merp. whatever

seeing the kids reaction when they saw that they pinned it perfectly was so cute and made it worth it.
